I looked at a lot of receivers before choosing this one. I think I made a good choice, based on price as well as performance. Unless you are technically inclined and installations are your thing, plan on paying someone or getting Uncle Leo who is in the business to install for you. End result-excellent!

Nice, but being very new to Home Theater, I wanted HDMI all the way, but this has cheap wiring clasps in the back that you have to noodle your exposed wiring in to each clasp. This sucks, Reminds me of a very cheap product by an unknown brand from ten years ago.
Once you get thru that, it is a very nice product and for the price, you cant go wrong. But I would advise myself and others, pay the extra few and get something awesome.

Unit worked well for a week and then failed (turned off within 10 secs. and could not be reset). It was returned without any problem and a new unit ordered. So far, the replacement has worked as expected.

I was looking for a lower end receiver that could use HDMI audio and according to the user manual for the RX-V365 it can't play HDMI audio through the speakers. You would have to connect separate optical cables to the source components.

I have a HDMI DirecTV, HDMI computer, and a HDMI LCD TV. Some company must understand that it's a waste to put component and even composite video on a receiver. Actually, so is the FM (and AM?) receiver. This is for a second LCD screen in my home, so am looking for something optimized for modern equipment.
